Interview Preparation
Interview Preparation – Plan 1
1 x 2-hour session via zoom or face to face
- Provision of an Interview Preparation Plan containing written guidance to support you in constructing your examples in advance of session
- Half hour review of your preliminary work during coaching session
- Practice interview
- Feedback on all elements of your preparation and responses during practice interview
- Tips and guidance for your interview
- Audio recording of your interview shared.
- Approximately a total of 4 hours input on my part per client including review of post on offer, preparation of your practice interview and detailed feedback.

Interview Preparation – Plan 2
2 x 1.5 hour consultations via zoom or face to face
Session 1
- Together we focus on identification and articulation of examples from your experience that demonstrate your knowledge and skills
- An Interview Preparation Plan Template is provided which facilitates a degree of structure to your preparation
- I provide a Sample Questions document in which I have aligned the questions with the competencies outlined in the job spec and with relevant policy/legislation associated with the post on offer
- Tips and guidance on preparatory work for your interview
Session 2
- Practice interview
- Feedback on all elements of your preparation and responses during practice interview
- Video and/or audio recording of your interview subject to your consent. The recording of your practice interview is sent to you following your second session
- Approximately a total of 6-7 hours input on my part per client including review of post on offer, relevant policy and legislation, preparation of your practice interview
During session 1 we focus largely on your examples and optimum ways to provide evidence of your knowledge, skills and competencies. The aim is to identify and structure 10 examples during Session 1. The Interview Preparation Plan template is used to document your examples as well as providing a degree of structure to your preparation. I normally schedule Session 1 and Session 2 on different days so that you have an opportunity to strengthen your examples and consolidate the learning from Session 1.
The objective of session 2 is to build your confidence in interview technique and to agree a pre-interview plan taking on board what remains to be done. This session includes a review of your examples, recording of your practice interview, feedback on your answers and recommendations for further work, if required. The interview is recorded on Zoom, subject to your consent, and will be forwarded to you following the session.

Interview Preparation – Bespoke Package
Clients who are preparing for interview sometimes request a bespoke package in which we prepare a custom designed process together. Examples of posts where we’ve designed a bespoke package include Medical Consultants, Senior Academic Positions, Senior Finance roles, essentially senior roles in their chosen profession. However, a request for a custom designed approach does not necessarily only apply to clients preparing for a perceived high stakes interview. It might be something as simple as an extra session that includes an additional practice interview, in which case the client might be significantly challenged by the interview process or perhaps the client wishes to take their preparation to a higher level.
A Bespoke Package includes the following:
- Agreement of Interview Preparation Plan.
- Where relevant, I conduct an in-depth review of policy, legislation, regulation, political and contextual issues as appropriate to the post on offer.
- 3 or more sessions via zoom or face to face.
- Usually more than 1 practice interview, one of which, where relevant, may include a subject matter expert on ‘panel’.
Career Planning Packages
Career Planning
A Career Direction Plan includes the following:
- 1.5 hour Career Coaching Assessment consultation which includes clarification of your values, strengths, skills, needs and what you love to do all of which support alignment with career options and/or development.
- 3 further hours of coaching in 60 minute or 90 minute sessions.
The overall aim of this coaching package is the development of your Career Direction Plan
